With it's dramatic views, deep valleys, historic parkland and lakes the Belvoir Castle Estate is the perfect place to offer the finest partridge, pheasant and duck shooting in breathtaking surroundings.
The highest quality driven birds, combined with the heritage and magnitude of the castle makes for an experience never to forget.
Shoot Captain Phil Burtt and his experienced team share a passion in making Belvoir one of the best shooting estates in the UK.
There are many exciting drives to choose from on the 16,000 acre Belvoir Estate. No two drives are the same. Different locations, scenery, topography, wind and the natural instinct of the birds makes each and every drive a new experience.
The success of the Belvoir shoot lies in the management and team work of all involved, from the early planning stages, through to the day itself. The team work extremely hard to provide a truly memorable experience with first class hospitality in the most wonderful surroundings of the castle and shoot lodge with perfect places to take the all important elevenses such as "Frog Hollow" a beautiful spot with views of the Lakes.
Shooting at Belvoir Castle we have over 60 drives on the Estate, all of which are used according to weather, bag target, experience of guns etc.
Your shoot day will usually consist of four or five drives, with refreshment breaks during the day and late lunch at the end of the day when shooting finishes. Generally, the minimum bag target for a Castle shoot would be 250 birds or over per day, although you can of course choose to shoot a bigger bag. The price for shooting includes the birds, all refreshments on the shoot day and transport around the shoot if required.
Simulated Clays
We can also arrange simulated clay pigeon days on the estate using the very latest clay traps together with the topography of the Estate for maximum variety and realism. Days take place outside of the shooting season and offer teams of guns the opportunity to enjoy the excitement of a real day's shooting in the summer months as they prepare for the season ahead.

I was invited by another gun whom i shoot with a few times throughout the season to the day at Belvoir. All i can say is THANK YOU!!! What a day! From the moment you take the road leading up to the castle and it starts to appear through the mist (on the day i went) you are just mesmerized! This just gets even better as you pull up in the car park beneath the castle - stunning! Amazing meet and great in the guards room, you just don't know whether to be polite and talk to the other guns or just stand in awe of the surroundings! The day just got better and better, Nick & John were superb hosts. The hospitality is some of the best i have come across, amazing 11's in what i can only describe as the most beautiful location around the ponds, with an open fire roaring away in the shoot cabin - just beautiful. Great lunch back in the castle in a room that was just perfect in every way! Can't wait to get back!! oh and the birds were perfect too, good for all abilities with some higher birds for the more confident and experienced. If you get a chance to shoot Belvoir rip their arm off! you will not be disappointed!

Mr. Richard Yeomans
If you can only get to one shoot in the year, make sure it’s at Belvoir Castle. If fact, if you only ever shoot one, this should be it. From the wonderful warm welcome, all the way through to the post-shoot dinner, everything was run to perfection. The variety of drives was well chosen for the conditions, and it all ran like clockwork but with a relaxed feel. Everyone that we met on the day made my guest and myself feel so welcome, staff and other guns. The only disappointment was that I only discovered this shoot so late in the season. We will be back!

Mr. Tony Eaves
I booked a day on November 12th for 3 guns, through Nicholas king the land and sporting agent for Belvoir Castle. A few days before Nick asked if we could change to Monday 18th November as he could guarantee the best drives on that day. Everything was agreed and we had a variety of correspondence right down to the pudding we would be served. At 9.00 pm on Sunday 17th Nick King rang to say the day had been cancelled as he couldn’t make contact with someone who had booked 3 guns and were not prepared to run a shoot for 5 guns, as the estate couldn’t make enough profit! I explained that my 2 guests had booked time of work to shoot and that cancellation at this ridiculously late hour was unfair and unreasonable, I then asked what would have happened if my mobile had been turned off, his answer was that we would have been told on arrival at Belvoir Castle! I have left this review a week to see if Belvoir apologise, or do anything to make amends, unsurprisingly has been forthcoming. Book a shoot here at your peril.
Mr. Eric David Thomas
I have previously shot at Belvoir, it just gets better. Our last day in December 2019 ticked all the Boxs all excellent. Many thanks.
