Hospitality
At Pilling Shoot, hospitality is at the heart of the day. Run by the Holden family of Hy-Fly Game Hatcheries, based on the edge of Morecambe Bay, we bring generations of shooting and game-rearing experience to every detail. Start with a hearty breakfast roll and fresh coffee in our shoot room before heading to the field. Between drives, enjoy sloe gin, fizz, or soft drinks, with elevenses served if shooting through. Lunch is a relaxed or two-course meal in the farmhouse, made with locally sourced ingredients. After the final drive, return for cakes or supper and good company. Warm, flexible, and fully catered — the perfect end to a memorable day.
Birds
At the Hy-Fly shoot, the day is built around superbly presented ducks — renowned for their height, pace and sporting challenge. Our mallard fly exceptionally well over the coastal landscape, offering high, testing shots that will delight experienced Guns while still providing plenty of opportunities for less seasoned shots to enjoy success. Each drive is carefully planned to showcase the birds at their best, with a variety of angles and distances to keep the day engaging and memorable for all abilities. Expect exciting, well-driven duck shooting in stunning surroundings.
Topography
The ground we shoot over is predominantly flat, but with the right wind on the day we can present some challenging and testing pheasant and partridge drives. When people shoot over our ground they are amazed at the diversity, you can be stood on our marsh looking out across Morecambe Bay to the South Lakes and half hour later on Moss ground, surrounding a mature woodland drive or Silver Birch plantation that has been there for hundreds of years.
Conservation Efforts
As Farmers we are always looking at ways to enhance the habitat and wildlife on our shoot, ponds, hedgerows and field margins are looked after in the best possible ways to encourage all forms of creatures to thrive in harmony
About the hosts

Mr. Jarvis Bigley
Myself and my father had a date changed on anther shoot so we jumped onto this shoot with a few days notice. Neither of us had shot on a duck day so we were unsure on what to expect with quality of birds etc compared to driven pheasant and partridge what we are used to. Within 2 minutes of the first drive that worry was gone! It was an overcast still day but that certainly did not stop these ducks getting up! We had three great long drives which every gun got shooting on! The last drive especially was amazing, shooting over 200 on that drive alone! We will be going back!!

A great day with well presented birds on all drives. A good variety of difficulties to suit all Guns. Friendly knowledgeable staff and good warming food on a cold winters day.

My second ever shoot and it was very enjoyable. The staff were helpful and the food given to us for breakfast and lunch were lovely. For me this was a great learning experience. I'd never shot birds above 35 yards. Here that would be probably be the lowest the birds fly. Great sport and an incredible test of skill.

Fabulous organization and the guys are very friendly! Very nice drinks and lunch! We shot mix birds except for ducks. £720 for Approx 300 birds is absolutely over the value! I have booked another shoot in a couple of weeks TODAY. Thanks Graham and Laura!

I shoot with Graham and his team as many times as I can bearing in mind that I live 200 miles away. The day starts with a very generous breakfast butty which sets the scene for a great day of sport alongside snifter hospitality between drives. The birds present at all levels and can cater for all abilities. A hearty meal (with copious refreshments!) finishes the day. Not to be missed!
