The shoot is on an estate on the Lancashire / Cumbria border, close to Kirkby Lonsdale.
This is friendly private shoot with a full time experienced keeper, we enjoy excellent quality shooting with extremely challenging birds. The estate covers aproximately 1000 acres, of which 100 acres is woodland, most drives are across a valley .
We normally shoot six drives per day , meeting at 9.15 am and stopping for lunch in the early part of the season and shooting through later in the year (stopping for a drink and a snack mid morning) .

We shot as a full team (9 guns) at Fairthwaite Park in January 2014, and had a fantastic day. This is a stunning shoot in a beautiful setting. The birds flew high and fast, and were well worth £35/bird, being comparable in quality to some of the well-known ‘high bird’ shoots I have shot at, albeit without the requirement to buy a large bag/day. We were well looked after by our host for the day, Andrew, and the keeper, Kenneth, who put in a lot of leg work to try and get the birds over the guns. The only thing I would change for again, is that we were probably a little ambitious on the bag size so late in the season, and would have been better buying a smaller day. Refreshingly, this was acknowledged by the keeper and our host on the day, and the shoot offered us a refund to reflect the slightly lower bag – an admirable attitude, and one that is rarely encountered in my experience when buying shooting. We will definitely be re-booking for next season if any full days become available.
