South East Game Shooting offers bespoke packages on our private family run shoot, combining exciting shooting opportunities and first class hospitality for roving syndicates or groups of 8 to 10 guns.

Based on the Isle of Sheppey in North Kent, we are involved with a number of shoots and landowners, allowing us to offer an array of diverse shooting opportunities including those on our own private "Harty Estate" of 3500 acres.

The Isle of Sheppey offers wide open landscape - ideal for partridges, and boasts some of the UKs best wildfowling as it's situated in the heart of the Thames Estuary.

It is hugely important to our family team that everyone is made to feel welcome, and has an unforgettable day. This extends to Ladies Days, Family Days, Parent/Child Sharing days - coaching/instruction can be provided, and bespoke arrangements to ensure everyone has an unforgettable day. Our well-established shoot has regular roving syndicates, with usually 2 additional days available each season for full teams to book.

We are also interested in hearing from a shoot preferably north of Yorkshire with a swap day available, we are a team of 10 who would look to swap a partridge day here in early season, for a pheasant day up North preferably mid to late season.

Hospitality

Full breakfast at the Ferry House, breaks for elevenses in the field, then later field lunch & refreshments all provided. And then back to the Ferry House for our infamous home-farmed rib of beef dinner (3 courses included, drinks payable separately). Accommodation at the Ferry House is available if you'd like to stay the night of, and/or night before. If bringing guests with you who don't fancy a full day in the field, they can relax by the fire in the lounges at the Ferry House, or enjoy a massage in the treatment rooms!

Birds

Fast partridge on a coastal wind! High challenging driven duck, incl wigeon and teal.

Topography

The Isle Of Sheppey offers a superb landscape for partridge shooting. Due to its mix of upland banks, open flat marshes, coupled with the flatness and proximity to the North Sea, the prevailing wind has a tendency to whistle through at a rate of knots, making the partridge fantastic sport. The open countryside, intersected by ditches, hedgerows and cover crops, offers regular glimpses of sea views making the island a pleasurable and enjoyable shooting experience.

Conservation Efforts

As farmers conservation and land management go hand in hand as part of our every day life and longer-term land management strategies.

About the hosts

Brothers Alex & John Burden have been shooting all their lives, and are both passionate about hosting quality days shooting that are fun & memorable for all. It is not unusual to have 5-10 Burden family members out working with us on a shoot day, we all take great pride in running a great day, and all enjoy having a good craic with our guests too. As a Shoot we are also very happy to accommodate 'family days' and will ensure all guests of ALL ages are very welcome.
