The Montreal Estate compromises of 2500 acres, located outside the picturesque town of Sevenoaks, just half an hour from central London. We have been told we are Kent's best kept secret. Our ideal location on the Kent/Surrey border gives us excellent transport links; transfers and accommodation can be arranged per request. The closest premium pheasant shooting experience to London.

We welcome our guns to our newly built facilities featuring a modern, luxury shoot lodge with a log burner, bi-fold doors and a wraparound balcony allowing you to take full advantage of far reaching views. Hospitality is provided throughout the day and will finish with a locally sourced supper at the shoot lodge; the perfect place to relax, unwind and celebrate a successful day of sport.

The Montreal Estate and the Shoot are run by The Green Family with at least one family member being present/hosting on the day. The shoot is managed by Rory Green and Lance Barton our Head Keeper. Lance, his under keeper and his team strive to provide our guns with the best possible sporting experience. The owners are continually investing, developing and improving the shoot with conservation, biodiversity and sustainability in the forefront of their mind.

Our days are typically 300 bird days, overages by prior agreement only. We shoot 8-10 guns dependant on our clientele preference.

Dates available upon enquiry. Please see below for contact details.

Hospitality

Guns at The Montreal Estate can look forward to a full field-to-fork shooting day combining well-run driven sport with high-quality countryside hospitality. The day includes a warm welcome, full English breakfast, safety briefing, and a series of carefully managed drives. Elevenses are served mid-morning with hot drinks, seasonal snacks, champagne and sloe gin, followed by a relaxed four-course lunch prepared by our estate chef using seasonal, locally sourced Kent produce where possible, including Estate meat and game. Throughout the day, guests can enjoy a carefully curated selection of complimentary refreshments, ensuring a seamless and relaxed experience from arrival to finish.

Birds

Guns shooting at The Montreal Estate can expect a varied and sporting mix of driven pheasant and partridge, designed to offer both challenge and enjoyment throughout the day. The pheasants are presented on well-planned drives that can produce strong, high birds depending on wind and conditions, offering testing but fair shooting for all abilities. The partridge are driven over the mouth of the Darenth Valley, providing fast, clean and consistent sporting birds for all guns, with pace and presentation that reward quick reactions and good shooting. The combination of both species ensures a balanced day with a mix of height, speed, and classic driven sport across varied terrain.

Topography

Set in the beautiful Kent Downs, an area of outstanding natural beauty, the village of Ide Hill is 800ft above sea level, making it one of the highest villages in Kent that offers some of the best topography in the South East compromising of rolling grass valleys, well established woodland and cover crop drives.

Conservation Efforts

Our conservation efforts include some of the best practice in our field with the estate woodland being extremely well managed and consequently being asked to host the RFS this year. Moreover, wild bird mix covers have now been introduced in places in lieu of maze on top of the multiple land stewardships the estate participates in. In addition to this, the keeping team are always encouraged to enable and promote conservation, with one of the highlights this year being the successful breeding of multiple owlets from various pairs using estate owl boxes.

About the hosts

The Green Family have lived locally for many years but purchased the estate in 2012. They host the day alongside our concierge Beau who has moved to us from private aviation. They take great pride over what they have achieved on the estate in the last 11 years, and are happy to share their insight with guns on how the shoot has got to where it is today.

Final thoughts

The The Montreal Estate is a privately owned Kent Estate developed with a focus on delivering high-quality driven shooting and hospitality experiences. Set on varied rolling ground on the edge of the Darenth Valley, the landscape naturally lends itself to well-presented pheasant and partridge drives, offering both height and pace depending on conditions. The Estate has been carefully improved to create consistent, enjoyable sporting days, supported by strong organisation, safe shooting, and a seamless guest experience from arrival to finish. With easy access from London, it provides a convenient yet authentic countryside setting where attention to detail, hospitality, and quality of sport are at the centre of every shoot day.

A Fantastic days shooting in what can only be described as very poor shooting conditions after all night torrential rain which continued right through until midday. The welcome from the moment we arrived at the rather nice Shoot Lodge and the hosting throughout the day was fantastic. The hot bacon or egg rolls upon arrival and elevenses held at the shoot lodge was enough to feed an entire army and was really good quality food too. Head Keeper Lance kept us informed throughout the day as to what drives we were doing and what could be expected in a friendly relaxed manner, and some of the birds seen were magnificent soaring high and curling on the wind, with ample opportunities along the line each drive and all day. I will definitely look to book another day here, hopefully with drier weather. Also a big thank you to Beau who saw to my dietary requirements from start to finish. Well done to all at Montreal Sporting, a real value for money shoot with very well presented birds.

Mr. Colin Gardner

I have been on many shoots up and down the country in my capacity as a shooting coach/loader, in my opinion Montreal shoot is in the top 3 of the various shoots I have visited in my many years of employment.
