SHOOTING SEASON 2015/2016

Presaddfed Estate, Isle of Anglesey, North Wales, listed in The Field’s 50 Best Sporting Estates as “A cracking mixed shoot. With several excellent lakes and marshes, fine duck shooting, morning and evening flights to start and end the day. To a wildfowlers' heaven, add snipe and driven, migratory woodcock. Excellent accommodation and hospitality is available at Presaddfed Hall, a 17th-century manor house, set in woodland.”

Here shooting parties from all over Great Britain, Europe and North America have been enjoying good sport for more than 40 years.

Formal traditional driven shooting begins on October 17th through to February 1st. The home beats provide exciting, varied and testing shooting. All pheasants are driven forward to guns; there are usually four drives before lunch in the dining room at Presaddfed Hall, followed by two drives after lunch, with a late evening Duck/Goose flight if required. Mixed days are available 80 to 250 head driven Pheasants, Duck, Snipe & Woodcock. An early morning duck/goose flight is available before breakfast on driven days if required.

Mid November, December and January good Woodcock shooting is on offer when the birds are migrating from Scandinavia to the United Kingdom and Ireland. There is dedicated ground for Woodcock shooting.

Smaller mixed driven days, are available, very enjoyable and easier on the pocket 80 to 100 head for a team of 8 guns. Pheasant, Duck, Woodcock and Snipe. Duck only days are available from October 10th to November 10th on the lake, Llyn Llywenan, one mile long, all provide wonderful Duck and Goose shooting under natural conditions. See plan of the lake with the butts shown. The weather in Anglesey is usually mild, free from heavy frost and snow most seasons. The climate is mild and moderate with plenty of wind.

Accommodation: Excellent accommodation and hospitality sre available at Presaddfed, there are 9 double bedrooms with 9 bathrooms. A group or party consists of 6 to 9 guns. Sole use of the house for the party.

Terms are based on the total party, shooting over one, two or three days at Presaddfed with accommodation and full board, wines & drinks; and vat @ 20%; Extras are: Non-shooting guests, transport from and returning to Manchester International Airport if required.

The shooting programme offered is to arrive the evening before shooting or on the morning of the shoot if within travelling distance, and settle in. There will be pre-dinner drinks and shoot briefing, followed by a delicious three-course dinner with wine, followed by coffee, chocolates and port; drinks are self-service.

The approximate bag quoted is an estimate of numbers to be achieved by a party of average shots. A policy operates offering an allowance of 10% over or under the expected bag.

Access to Presaddfed is excellent. Manchester and Liverpool Airports are within a two-hour drive. Transport will meet the group if required. There is a direct motorway from all major cities; direct train service from London. High speed ferries from Dublin to Holyhead.

The Anglesey Shooting School, at Presaddfed offers Exciting Simulated Game Days on the Estate, using the Home Beats shot over during the shooting season. Accommodation is available; lunch is included in the day.

Sporting Clay and Skeet Layout is open from 1st weekend of March until end of September annually.
