Brackenhill shoot is situation on the hills overlooking Mulroy Bay on the North West of Donegal, the rugged and mountainous terrain makes for some excellent and challenging shooting, with over 20 established drives and 3 mountain ponds. Days can be tailoured for 6-8 guns shooting pheasant, partridge and duck, bags ranging from 50-200 birds.
From the first of september we can provide driven duck (our duck shooting is driven with the emphasis on quality not quantity) days and driven partridge days or a combination of the two and from november onwards days can be tailored to consist of one of, or a combination of all 3 quarry species.
The average day starts at approx 9.30 am, when we meet for tea/coffee in our guns room, as a rule 3 drives are shot in the morning, with a light lunch being served before 1 or 2 drives in the afternoon.
Visitors shotgun permits can be arranged if necessary for UK and N Ireland guests at a cost of €40 per gun.

I have known Stuart for years as a supplier of Pheasant and Duck to a number of shoots including my own, I have always been impressed by the quality of his stock so it was with pleasure and anticipation that I accepted his invitation to see his birds perform on their home ground. Stuart and his birds did not disappoint, excellent birds, spectacular and different terrain, such a variety of targets over such a small area and incredible value for money (assuming I was not a guest). I would like to firstly give a huge thank you to Stuart and the team for the warm welcome and providing great hospitality on the day. The shoot scenery was amazing with top quality driven pheasants provided. I would like to also mention the quality of the driven duck which would most certainly test the most experienced of guns. The day exceeded my expectation with amazement as I had never challenged myself on driven birds before and it truely was a fantastic day of shooting. I would recommend Bracken Hill for anyone who wants a challenge but also wants to truely enjoy some amazing shooting that is provided, I know that I will be revisiting Bracken Hill in the forcoming season. At last Brackenhill has appeared on GunsOnPegs. This family run shoot lies in beautiful Donegal hills with stunning views. The drives use topography that many shoots would die for. This shoot can show the tallest partridge, pheasant and duck from Bracken covered hill, forestry and hidden ponds. The welcome is warm, hospitality superb and everything is done on the day to ensure that the guns have a good days sport.
