Borris House Shoot

Pheasant

The shoot at Borris was formally established over 40 years ago by the present owner’s Father, Andrew McMorrough Kavanagh. In that time the shoot has grown and developed into a premier driven shoot with both new and established drives such as Bunahowen, New Wood, The Hill and Tinker’s Grave testing the skill of the most experienced shot. A day’s shooting at Borris House Shoot is a day to remember as the shooting is challenging even for the most experienced gun yet immensely enjoyable for the person starting off.

Topography

Borris House sits in rural South East Ireland; nestled between the Blackstairs mountains and the River Barrow. Surrounded by native woodland, undulating hills and sweeping parkland, Borris Demense lends itself naturally to driven pheasant shooting.

About the hosts

The ancestral home of the Mcmorrough Kavanaghs, Kings of Leinster, Borris House is one of the few Irish estates that can trace its history back to the ruling families of ancient Ireland.
