A unique shoot set in the stunning surroundings of the Hebridies. We offer guns a chance to experience a completely different sporting package. We offer two night packages on the Island. The first afternoon is a very informal "wild goose chase” followed by walked up snipe, and depending on the time of year a drive of woodcock which are abundant here from the end of October onwards. The second day is a more formal fully driven day where we try to show 8 or so short drives. Guns can expect to shoot up to 8 different species but we are predominately a pheasant, partridge and duck shoot. Our drives consist of game cover crops, small plantations and heather banks where we show partridges. There are only 40 residents on the Island and on a shoot day, most of them have some sort of involvement. The drives that we have created are both challenging and unpredictable. An average bag for our shoot is around 120 birds.

A warm welcome awaits you in our hotel where we serve only the freshest and finest local produce. During your stay you can expect the freshest lobster, crab and prawns along with our famous Isle of Muck lamb.

Travel:

The Island is easily accessible and closer to civilisation that you may think. From Glasgow we are around a three-hour drive from either sailing port.  There are two travel options form either the port of Mallaig or Arisaig. Cal Mac are our main ferry providers and run a service 3 days a week from Mallaig. The ferry leaves around 10am and takes around an hour and a half to get to Muck with a short stop off at Eigg. No cars are permitted on the island and a return ticket cost around £18. The alternative is the private charter of the "Shearwater" from Arisaig. She's a much smaller boat but also very comfortable. By chartering this boat, it allows you the flexibility to travel when you want to. She takes around one hour and twenty minutes to reach us. We have secured a favourable rate of £280 each way for the exclusive charter.

Mr. Chris Horne

The simple fact that we've been back 9 years in a row says it all. I haven't been to another shoot 9 years in a row. If you're looking for more of a trip than a day shooting then look no further. Everything about the Muck experience is absolutely fantastic with shooting for everyone. They show fantastic birds off the top of the hill in the middle of the island as well as lovely partridges on the lower ground. Then there's the walked up snipe, and the evening or morning flighting for geese and duck, and that's all before you get on to the best hopsitality you could hope for. Local shellfish, lamb, game, beef, you name it, all to an excellent standard. Looking forward to seeing you both again soon Toby & Mary. Best, Chris

Myself and team have just returned from a truly unforgettable adventure, the hospitality would put many a hotel too shame, Mary certainly hasn't much to learn in the kitchen, and her and Toby were super hosts! The shooting didn't disappoint either, with such great variety, from down a cliff face to almost on the beach, and the display of birds and terrain, made it most different and interesting, we also met various other people who were beating and picking up, who also contribute so much to the fabric of this super self contained island. I have just returned from my fourth year on the Isle of Muck with the GunsOnPegs Team. The first three years were spent in Toby & Mary's old house which was unusual to say the least in so far as there was no heating (apart from a roaring fire) and the electric went off with the generator at midnight, but we did have windup torches!! Along with Mary's amazing food and Toby's skill in presenting birds, we all loved it. This year we stayed in the new house and what a difference. It is a wonderful house/lodge with magnificent views over the Isles of Eigg and Rhum, no bedroom sharing, heat and electric 24/7, and Mary is still weaving her AGA magic. Toby's skill in presenting such wonderful birds on the island is masterful and so varied with pheasant, partridge, duck, snipe, and wild geese. Many thanks for all the hospitality and great shooting. I took a team of guns up to Muck two years ago and remember very clearly what a fantastic time we had. The whole trip is an experience that all shooting people should try at least once. Very very good hospitality and food. The locals are great fun especially if you get them all back to the hotel for a drink afterwards. A truly memorable trip.
