Benula Sporting Estate

Rugged open Scottish highland stalking over almost 4000 acres.

The estate is situated on the northern slopes of Carn Eighe. A series of Argo tracks and natural paths lead up from the shoreline.

We like to stalk as traditionally as possible and closely adhere to the original closed seasons for Red deer.

We offer Red Stag stalking from 1st September through to 21st October with the rut taking place mid October. We do not shoot ‘trophy’ Stags in general however will always endeavour to achieve a good representation of the species and larger examples may be shot if appropriate to do so.

Hinds are available from 25th November through to 31st January.

Estate rifle hire is available for a fee.

We have a shooting range on the Estate with targets and a full size steel Red deer target.

All guests will be requested to use the range at the beginning of the day to ensure their rifle is zeroed.

Novices and those unfamiliar with the estate rifle will be guided and assisted by the estate manager on the range and throughout the day.

A traditional highland stalking experience.

You will be guided by Rob and/or Angus for your experience.

Rob is the owner of the Estate, ex military and long term stalker.

Angus, the Estate Manager lives in the village of Cannich and has been stalking on Benula for decades. He is also head of the local mountain rescue team.

Yes, we welcome non-hunting guests but do ask that these be kept to a minimum to maximise chances of success on the ground.

The Estate grounds are within an hour of Inverness international airport (the nearest village of Cannich is 45 mins from Inverness)
