Alvie Estate

Alvie is a 13,000 acre traditional sporting estate situated on the edge of the Cairngorm National Park, located 50 minutes south of Inverness airport & 2 hours north of Edinburgh.  Alvie is a family run Estate which has been owned by the Williamson family since 1927.

Guests are encouraged to stay in Alvie House on a fully catered basis, including lunch on the hill. The House provides a warm welcome & its traditional charm allows guests to experience the style of a bygone age when there was time for field sports, leisurely conversations, reading in comfortatable charis & strolls around the garden & Estate.  Our Chef prepares excellent cuisine using local seasonal produce, where possible, including salmon, venison, lamb, beef & grouse.

Our driven grouse shooting includes 5 drives per day with an expected bag of 40 brace.  Some drives take place on steep ground and walking across the heather moorland is required between drives.

Guests are looked after on the hill by the Laird & Factor supported by the Head Stalker who has worked on the Estate for over 30 years. All guests are made to feel very welcome in a relaxed & informal environment with friendly hosts.
