Pheasant
Duck

Ours is essentially a family shoot that sells the odd day. Run by Andrew Collins, assisted by Malcolm Mercer and David Marks.

We shoot Eight days per season and only sell three day day to help defray costs.

Located on the Herts/Essex borders,we are in deep countryside, away from roads and built up areas, whilst being easily accessable from the A120 between Bishops Stortford and Puckeridge

The terrain is rolling and can produce good quality shooting.

Guns do not stand in woods, but open country, with most drives from planted covers.

Guns travel in a four wheel drive gun bus

The format is to meet 9 to 9.15 for coffee, safety briefing and drawing of pegs.

We shoot  eight or nine guns, dogs are welcome. Pickers up will be in attendance but will give plenty of space for guns to work their own dogs.

Refreshment is taken after three or four drives (soup, pasty etc)  There will be five or six drives depending on bag required.

Lunch can be arranged afterwards in a local pub  if required.

Date available is around 3 rd January

circa 100 birds at £32per bird, no vat

Hospitality

Fully equipped gun bus makes for a very genial day!

Topography

Set in rolling countryside, with some wood drives but mostly birds are driven from planted covers.

About the hosts
