Pheasant
Partridge

With excellent contours and 2,000 + acres of arable, grass and woodland, Easneye is widely acknowledged to be one of the best shoots in Hertfordshire. Family run, with a highly experienced and friendly team of beaters and pickers-up, this shoot has game books dating back over 100 years. Two days have become available at short notice. This is a rare opportunity to experience a classic, 'old school' day's shooting.

Hospitality

Easneye is within easy reach of London. For teams travelling from further afield, I can recommend excellent hotels near Ware or Hertford. We serve soup and sloe gin for the morning break and return home for an excellent two-course lunch at the end of the day.

Topography

Easneye is blessed with excellent shooting country. Ancient woods sit high on either side of the valley. The River Ash, a beautiful chalk stream, winds through the old dairy pastures below. Excellent partridge ground stretches behind the woods on high ground. This combination allows us to show varied and consistently challenging targets.

Conservation Efforts

Modest numbers of partridges and pheasants are released into large pens and carefully designed cover crops. Each drive is integrated into a large-scale, award-winning countryside stewardship scheme. We take great care that our birds are fit and strong.

About the hosts

My wife and I will be delighted to welcome the shooting party to our home. Sean Smith has been our keeper here for 5 years. He and his senior team will run the day, transporting and placing the guns and taking every care to ensure they have a safe and enjoyable day's shooting.
