Situated just south of Basingstoke within 5 minutes from the M3 junction 7, the Old Granary Shoot offers traditional Hampshire Partridge and Pheasant shooting throughout the season. Set within some 2,000 acres of prime rolling Hampshire farm and woodland, there are a range of different and spectacular drives numbering over 25 that can be tailored to meet the shooting requirements of both experienced guns that want more challenging birds or those who prefer a more relaxed day. At over 180 meters (590 feet) above sea level at the highest point the winds and topography allow the presentation of some challenging birds, even to the most accomplished shots.

We can provide Partridge only days, mixed days with say Partridge in the morning and Pheasant in the afternoon, mixed drives throughout, or mainly Pheasant days. The woodland also provides low numbers of Woodcock. The day can be tailored to suit individual requirements. We can accommodate back to back days, supply loaders and instructors if required.

The syndicate shoots mainly Saturdays.

The award winning Granary Lodge is the welcoming meeting point where coffee/tea is served on arrival. A typical day is: On our pegs by 10am for two or three drives in the morning. Hot soup and snacks will be served midway through, then two or three more drives before heading back to the Old Granary Lodge for a late lunch with all the trimmings.

On a cold autumn or winters day, there is nothing better than to relax after in front of the open log fire discussing the day’s events. A brace of dressed or on the feather birds, (your preference), are offered by the keeper before your departure.

I had a fantastic day with Danny at the beginning of January. The conditions weren't easy with very little wind at all, but the keeper both managed to find the birds and present them beautifully on the whole throughout the day. The final two drives were just fantastic - a pleasure to experience, with birds slowly pushed over the guns (with all of us having shooting) at some height! I would certainly recommend this shoot to others. Digby Taylor - Shoot Account Manager, GunsOnPegs

I’ve shot here several times both as a guest of syndicate members and Danny. It’s all you’d want it to be. Don’t be fooled by Hampshire countryside, they can throw some very challenging birds over the guns. Great shooting in a relaxed but well organised format. I’d recommend it to anyone.

I was lucky enough to shoot at the Old Granary last season (2015-2016) and was very much looking forward to coming back, and it certainly didn't disappoint. Waking on the morning of the shoot to heavy rain dampened the spirits on the drive down, but by luck and good fortune the rain stopped as we arrived and the day stayed dry. A warm welcome from Danny on arrival and the shoot lodge to start and end the day is large and comfortable with a log fire on the go and bacon rolls and fresh coffee. Two drives before a stop for elevenses and a further four drives in our case afterwards. The drives varied from classic partridge coveys to tall, fast pheasants, that climbed with the wind and set off like speeding bullets. The birds continued come in all cases with a smooth flow that made the drives hugely enjoyable to shoot and also watch with a good spread across the pegs. The day finished with a roast dinner. Very grateful thanks to Danny and Ian, and we'll be back

I cannot recommend this shoot enough, having shot here twice now i have seen the shoot get even better than before. Partridge and pheasants are produced fantastically overly rolling countryside, with some really challenging birds being shown. Danny and his teams' hospitality from start to finish is faultless. Thank you for a great day. Tom Adams - GunsOnPegs

I shot The Old Granary Shoot last week with blustery conditions. Danny our host was very good at making me feel welcome. He shot an array of drives all producing great sport from rocketing partridges to towering pheasants. In its first season you would never know, a real gem and one to watch. Highly recommend it.
