Caribou hunting in Greenland

Greenland is a hunting paradise and Lax-a now has exclusive hunting rights in an area of 500 square kilometers. Our quota is 300 Caribou every season, many of those are trophy bulls that will end up in record books. Our one of kind program has become popular and is fast becoming a firm favorite amongst our clients. Our Caribou hunters have been returning full of praise for what they have experienced there.
We fly from Reykjavik to Narsarsuaq and from there hunters are transported to our hunting grounds by boats. Helicopter transfer is optinal for an additional fee.

For the summer of 2012 Lax-a will build a proper hunting camp in the area, the first ever permanent hunting camp in Greenland. A total of twelve sleeping cabins (twin bed cabins) built around a common area where meals are prepared and hunters can enjoy each other’s company. The common area will be roofed but otherwise open, with both gas and charcoal BBQ’s, a fireplace and of course tables and chairs. Meals are prepared by the staff – most of menu originates in the area (caribou meat, arctic char and fish from the sea). Even though the camp will have running water, WC and showers it will still be a wilderness camp – a unique experience.

Hunting opportunities are vast in Greenland, you have the choice of hunting Musk Ox as well, Arctic Hare, Seals, Ptarmigan and Marine Birds. This will keep you very busy for the whole week, and if you still have a little bit of time you grab some of our fishing rods and you go fishing for the Sea run Arctic Char. Bow hunters will find Greenland extremely interesting as the landscape is made for bow hunters, canyons, big rocks, hides that allow bow hunters to get carefully very close to the animals.
This vast hunting concession in the south of Greenland also offers endless fishing opportunities on hundreds of rivers and lakes. The river mouths have often been very productive when the char runs up the rivers. The lakes that are connected to the ocean by clear rivers provide the best fishing, but the fjords are also extremely productive in the early part of the season. Char start to gather in the fjords near the river mouths in the end of June and begin to move into the rivers by July.
