Hollingworth SCC

The shoot is based near Glossop on the edge of the Peak District National Park.  It covers around 1,000 acres with a mixture of farmland, heather moorland and a number of small woods. A few grouse are present on the moor but the main sport is with pheasant, woodcock and pigeon

There are around 5 small drives around the main woods with the rest of the day being walked up / rough shooting.  We would typically expect to provide ten shoot days during the season and the average bag size is around 30/40 birds.

A typical day consist of two or three drives in the morning before a break for a sandwich and a coffee.  We then do another two or three drives in the afternoon with the finish time depending on the light, weather and how energetic everybody is feeling. 

This is a small syndicate shoot and we are a friendly bunch. We take our sport seriously but also enjoy a good laugh and a pint and a bite to eat in the pub at the end of the day.

We have a few syndicate places available for the 2021/22 season so please feel free to drop us a line if you would like to be considered. The price for a full gun will be £800.    

Members are expected to assist on 3/4 work parties during the year.

A reasonable level of previous shooting experience is essential and the terrain can be quite challenging, so a modest level of basic fitness is required. We will also give priority to guns with their own dog.
