Shooting is from enclosed towers overlooking bait stations 50 mtrs away where the boar come to feed throughout the night. All shooting is for pest control, crop damage limitation and so we operate throughout the year but try to avoid sows which are clearly with dependant followers. We go to the towers about an hour before sunset and you are welcome to stay to sunrise the following morning where you have the chance of picking up one of the many deer in the forest, these being mainly fallow but we also have roe and munty. Any of these may be taken but must be in season and legal light conditions and are included in the fee.
Topography
Situated in the stunning forest of Dean the land is mainly to grass and surrounded by mature woodland where the boar spend most of the day. The towers are situated on the edge of these woodlands with easy vehicle access
About the hosts
I have been shooting deer etc for about 35 years and boar for about 3 years and now do most of my shooting for pest control, crop damage limitation. I have helped a lot of clients to get their first British boar and many keep coming back as my shooting costs are very low allowing even those with a low income to try for a species they would not normally be able to comfortly afford.
