We are a woodland shoot just outside the village of Cowley in the heart of the Cotswolds. The shoot is privately run with only a few days let each season. We are a driven pheasant shoot within a woodland setting with a lot of the drives having guns stood in woodland rides, so therefore a large proportion of ‘snap’ shooting which offers something exciting and different for the guns. We are a very low key, informal shoot where beaters mix with the guns throughout the day. We are not a commercial shoot, only shooting 10 days a season of which most are private
Hospitality
We provide tea and coffee and bacon rolls if requested when we meet at the local pub. We supply drinks throughout the day including champagne, sloe gin, beers and soft drinks. A little get lunch is provided in our shoot hut which consists of bread, cheese, ham, soup etc. We are a minimal frills shoot and do not have the facilities to provide a large lunch!
Topography
We have typical steep Cotswold valleys and our woodland is designed for shooting high pheasants as the rides where guns stand are located at the bottom of the valleys. We can therefore offer some very good pheasant shooting.
About the hosts
I am a farmer and own and run the shoot which I have been doing for the last 12 years. I love my shooting and working my 3 black labradors. I always want to present the best quality birds I can and take great pleasure in showing new guns the quality of bird we can offer. I am 36 and often my wife and young children will join in on the day after lunch!
