Driven pheasant shoot on the Charleton Estate where we average 150-200 bird a day shoot on the woodland banks running down towards the coast of Fife facing the Firth of Fourth. We also offer walked up/ rough shooting of pheasants and other wild game and this year we have an additional 2 duck ponds for flighting in the evening. Elevenses up the hill with lunches either in the castle or more basic lunch in the barn. Accommodation available in both the castle or more basic accommodation in the estate cottages. Private golf course on the estate is also on offer.
Hospitality
As described in the itinerary either a lunch in the main Manor House or barn is available for both driven and walked up/ rough shooting parties. Accommodation of up to 10 bedrooms available in the main Manor House as well as more basic self catering accommodation available in the estate cottages which have 3 bedrooms or the new Eco-lodges opening up this autumn 2022.
Topography
Morning drives up the woodland hill with spectacular views down to the sea and over the Firth of Fourth and afternoon drives in the landscaped gardens included on the Inventory of Gardens and Designed Landscapes in Scotland.
Conservation Efforts
Land used for gamebird shooting is managed in a manner that protects and enhances wildlife habitats and the ecosystem services that they support including carbon storage and sequestration
About the hosts
The estate has been within the family for over 300 years. It comprises of farming, woodland, an equestrian center, cottage lets and an 18-hole golf course with the addition of 14 Eco-lodges-lodges being built this year.
