The Littlebury Shoot or Littlebury Beat as known to some, part of Audley End Estate, Saffron Walden, Essex. Producing some of East Anglia’s highest Partridges and Pheasants through the natural chalk baulk hills and valleys. 50 miles from Central London with easy access to the M11 and A14.
We offer days from 150 upwards of either Partridge or Partridge and Pheasant mixed days throughout the season.
Offering some classic drives such as High Baulks, driving game from one belt to another with the guns standing well below the levels on either side; Oak Tree with partridges over the pylons which run through the valley base; Partridge Plantation being a traditional rolling contour drive, with Long Belt adjacent using the baulk dips and quartering winds to enhance the sport; Browns, a cover on top of a baulk and driven in either direction depending wind; Golf Course, yes standing on the 6th fairway at Saffron Walden Golf Club, where a birdie is guaranteed.
We confident we can test most teams of guns and can cater for all standards as we have good variation in our drives and try to use these to suit your expectations.
You will be driven around the shoot in our fully fitted out Gun Bus and placed on your peg by your host. Well behaved dogs are welcome in addition to our picking up team.
There are some good local hotels if you wish to extend your stay and we can arrange for the meal to be the night before rather than on the day. We generally shoot on Wednesdays.
The days are all inclusive and we will meet in The Shoot Room, Home Farm for full English breakfast. Refreshments are available throughout the day and after a couple of drives lunch will be served in the field, either hot or cold weather suiting. Finishing off the day with tea and cake in the Shoot Room and can be tailored to suit your requirements

Conservation Efforts
Over 50% of our covers are now SFI compliant and we supplementary feed these for song birds throughout the winter months. Woodcock are common and breed within the estate, these are not shot due to our commitment to encourage them. Wild Grey partridges are present though we try our best not to drive them over guns and allow them to slip out sides.

Mr. Thomas Adams
The best shooting i have had in East Anglia! This is not typical Essex shooting. The Littlebury shoot has wonderful topography that showed some of the best partridges i have shot this season anywhere in the country. Mark and his team laid on a very relaxing day, nothing was rushed. We weren't blessed with the weather (bright and still) yet the team managed to get the birds to fly beautifully. The hospitality was very good with a fabulous steak and ale pie for lunch. It wanting to shoot top quality sport in East Anglia at great value then this is the place to do it. Thank you for a great day. Tom Adams, GunsOnPegs.

I bought a day at Littlebury for my guests and we were provided with an excellent day out. This is certainly not a flat part of East Anglia and in the rolling hill my guests struggled to catch up with the quality high birds we were shown! You will be warmly welcomed by your hosts in a relaxed atmosphere and if you have a day like we did then you will not go home disappointed.

One of the best shoots in Essex... not flat like you'd think! One of the drives, I think it was 'High Baulks', offered some very very high birds! A great day had by all, and we'll certainly be back!
