We can tailor each day entirely to the client, from relaxed, DIY-style hospitality through to a fully catered, high-end experience, bringing in chefs and waiting staff as required. We also have a purpose-built shoot lodge available, providing a comfortable base and ensuring the day runs seamlessly whatever the weather.

Traditional East Anglian partridge shooting, with very fit, fast and challenging birds shown over established hedgerows, varied terrain, spinneys and woodland, on a family-run shoot with over 150 years of sporting history.

We are heavily involved in the SFI scheme and are keen supporters of the GWCT

Depending on the day, our Shoot Captain brings extensive experience from running a number of established shoots, including Brocket Hall. The landowners are also actively involved in hosting the day and, depending on the level of catering requested, often in the cooking and hospitality too.

The estate has a fascinating history, once home to the Whitmore family and Sir John Whitmore, the celebrated “Racing Baronet”, British Saloon Car Champion and Le Mans driver, who even flew his own aircraft from the grounds of Orsett Hall. The Cole family acquired the estate in 1967 and have continued to farm the land and maintain its sporting traditions ever since. A true shooting family, Jeremy Finnis is now National Chairman of the GWCT, while his sons, Toby and Oliver, run the shoot today. This continuity of farming, conservation and field sports gives Orsett a distinctive character, with generations of custodianship behind every day.
