At Parkwood Deer Management, we take a conservation-led approach to deer management, working alongside landowners to safeguard the environment while supporting their wider conservation and biodiversity objectives.

As part of our management programme, we offer professionally guided Fallow and Roe deer stalking across a number of private estates throughout the Kent and East Sussex Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

Stalking is predominantly undertaken on foot and requires a good level of fitness and mobility. High seats and towers are also used across woodland rides and forestry clear-fells, offering excellent opportunities during the first and last light of the day.

Previous stalking experience is preferred, although novices are welcome. For those new to stalking, we can provide a short introductory session on targets to familiarise you with the equipment and process before heading out into the field.

Whether you are an experienced stalker or looking to experience guided deer stalking for the first time, our aim is to provide a professional, responsible and enjoyable experience while contributing to effective deer management and conservation.

Topography

Stalking outings take place in rolling valleys, arable land and ancient woodland. Much of the land we stalk over is under a stewardship scheme creating an ideal habitat for an abundance of wildlife.

Species

We offer guided Fallow and Roe deer stalking, with much of our management work focused on maintaining sustainable Fallow populations.

Our primary focus is on breeding-age does and younger bucks, while a number of mature bucks are also culled each season on request, as they form an important part of an effective deer management plan.

We also manage good numbers of Roe deer, including some excellent representative bucks, providing opportunities for both experienced stalkers and those looking to develop their skills.

Gun hire & insurance

Estate Rifles & Equipment Hire We have a selection of estate rifles available to hire, including a Sako 85 chambered in .243 Winchester and a Sako 85 chambered in .30-06 Springfield.

Both rifles are fitted with premium Swarovski or Zeiss optics, featuring variable magnification and illuminated reticles. Rifles are supplied with a sound moderator, sling and bipod.

Swarovski and Meopta binoculars are also available to hire on request.

All guests must hold valid field-sports liability insurance before undertaking any stalking. Suitable cover can be obtained through organisations such as BASC or other specialist field-sports insurers.

About the hosts

Your host for the day is a passionate countryman and experienced deer stalker, holding British Deer Society DSC1 & DSC2, Forestry First Aid at Work, and Lantra Advanced Deer Management qualifications.

A typical day begins with a detailed briefing, potentially in the early hours and before first light. From there, we make the short journey onto the estate, where the stalking begins.

Working with the conditions, terrain and deer movement, we will put in the time and effort to locate suitable animals and stalk within range, with safety, responsible deer management and a successful day in the field always at the forefront.

Non-shooting guests

Non-hunting guests are most welcome and can join you in the field to experience the excitement of deer stalking without carrying a rifle.

We also offer an unarmed stalking experience for those who would like the opportunity to observe deer at close quarters and experience the countryside from a stalker’s perspective, without wishing to take a shot.

Travel information

The stalking is located within 1.5hours drive of Central London on the Kent and East Sussex Border. our nearest international Airport is Gatwick which is a 45 minutes drive away.

Final thoughts

All carcasses from deer culled during our stalking experiences will enter the public food chain, ensuring that the venison is put to good use.

Guests are encouraged to purchase their carcass, or a selection of venison, through our approved buyers. Where required, professional butchery and delivery directly to your door can also be arranged, allowing you to enjoy high-quality, locally sourced venison from your own stalking experience.

I had outstanding outings with Will at Parkwood Deer Stalking. From the moment we met, his professionalism, calm manner and deep knowledge of the ground were obvious. He is one of those rare guides who strikes the perfect balance between being friendly and relaxed while still running a thoroughly safe, well‑structured and ethical stalk. The ground itself is superb — varied woodland, rides, open glades and gently rolling terrain that holds a genuinely healthy population of fallow and roe. We saw deer throughout the outing, and Will’s ability to read the wind, anticipate movement and position us quietly was impressive. Nothing felt rushed, everything felt deliberate and well‑judged. What really stood out was how tailored the experience was. Will took the time to understand what I wanted from the outing, explained the plan clearly, and made sure I felt confident at every stage. His knowledge of deer behaviour and habitat management is first class. The shot opportunity was set up perfectly safe angle, steady rest, clear identification, and no pressure. After the shot, gralloching and carcass handling were done to a very very high standard, with clear explanations throughout. Great ground, high deer density, top‑tier guiding and a genuinely enjoyable atmosphere. I will definitely be returning. Thanks Will!

Been out with Will twice now and more stalks booked in. Will is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. He has a large area of land to stalk, with high seats in a variety of positions. Both outings there have been plenty of deer to be seen, and Will strives to get you as many shot opportunities as possible. Would highly recommend to all!

Will is just awesome. Weather was nasty but he managed to give me the best stalking experience so far. Got a young buck at the end. Definitely will go again. 😇

Will is a fantastic Guide and Stalker with great knowledge of his ground. New towers and high seats on land with great vantage and safe shooting. Stalked through woods and wild meadows seeing lots of fallow then decided to sit in tower for last light. Beautiful 4 pointer buck strolled up towards us and took him at 100 yards. Fantastic stalk and I’ll be back when chiller empty. Thank you Will
