Lagg Shoot

The shoot is essentially a family run shoot with am intent to provide a professional day out. Guns are made to feel welcome meeting a small but efficient team of keepers, pickers up and beaters at the start of the day and all enjoying each other’s company from lunch. Guns will be treated royally while with us from the moment they draw pegs to the moment they are handed their shoot cards at the end of the day.

Terminal glacial moraine which gives some lovely banks for us to show birds from. Mature and new woodland with hedges, cover crop and boggy ground with new ponds. The views down the valley are fantastic and you certainly feel in the middle of no where.

We have been awarded a Purdey Award and told that we were an “oasis for wildlife” with newly planted trees, hedging and new ponds. We have curlew, oyster catchers and red squirrels resident on the land.

This is a family run shoot which does not aim to make money from days, but simply to make enough money to pay for birds, feed and the team on the day. I run the shoot with a great friend and we reflect on the fact that the shoot is our place to take break from life. We are proud of what we have achieved in creating the shoot from nothing over the last 10 years.
