A small family shoot set in beautiful countryside that lends itself to shooting sporting pheasants and partridges in varied drives (70-130 Birds). We walk to each drive and the emphasis is on a good day out enjoying good sport with friends in stunning countryside with excellent food served at lunch, all produced on the farm.
Hospitality
Friendly hospitality from the host and his wife on arrival when real coffee is served. Everything served at Elevenses and for lunch is home made. The White Park Beef, Iron Age Pork or Portland Lamb served at lunch are all rare breeds and farm reared. There is a strong emphasis on great food and generous hospitality.
Topography
Woodland extends along the edge and length of a valley back to which the birds are driven from mixed broadleaf plantations. All the fields are old pastures so the going is pleasant over undulating ground with wonderful views.
Conservation Efforts
The planting of solely native species of trees and shrubs as game cover 15 years ago, which is providing natural food to moths , butterflies and birds. No artificial fertiiser is used on the old pastures which are grazed by rare breed cattle (White Park) and sheep (Portland).
About the hosts
Passionate about the countryside, field sports and good food to provide an excellent days entertainment. It's not all about the shooting, it's about your enjoyment with your friends on a great day out, enjoying your sport!
