Lamberts Castle is a small private shoot run as a shooting club for club members. We employ a full-time gamekeeper and have a close knit team of beaters and pickers-up. We shoot Fridays and Tuesdays and welcome new club members to our friendly shoot.
The 26/27 season is now open and we would be delighted to speak with anyone interested in joining the team; We only have a few spaces available on our syndicate days. Shooting Tuesdays and Fridays. We also have two rare let days available on our club member shoot, we can cater for teams of 7-10, further info by message or see dates available below.

Hospitality
A bacon sandwich or an optional full-English to start the day, we stop for a proper elevenses; charcuterie, pies and nibbles with sloe-gasms. The main meal at the end of the day will be a game main, Pheasant, Partridge, Duck or Venison in a pie served with seasonal vegetables and crispy roast potatoes and gravy. Pudding would be apple pie, spotted dick, jam roly-poly served with custard.
Topography
Lamberts Castle is a glorious haven of valleys and goyles that time forgot. Because the ground is steep and wet it has been well preserved with little change since the second world war. In this picturesque setting we have established fourteen drives where we can shoot pheasant partridge and a few duck. We typically shoot four drives a day so guns have plenty of variety during the day.
Conservation Efforts
We plant many acres of wild bird mix as well as conducting rigorous predator control to ensure that the land supports a diverse and healthy range of wild life.
About the hosts
Simon hosts every day personally and has run shoots since 1985. He believes that shooting is about a proper day out where laughter is as important as decent birds. Simon's wife Celine runs the picking up team with her six Labradors.

This is my first season at Lamberts Castle Shoot, with Simon, Seline, Dan Painter (Keeper) and his extremely well drilled team of beaters and pickers up. I took a half gun not knowing what too expect, but have to say, i have already booked my Gun for 2026 season. The whole format of the day meeting for Breakfast at The Old Inn in Hawkchurch, gun bus to the drives and a day of challenging mid to high birds, was a real treat. Best David Goodman
