We are a situated at Hescott Farm in Bideford, Devon.
We offer driven shooting looking over the superb Bideford Bay/Clovelly area. This offers an outstanding range for challenging sport. We first opened for business in 2001, we are situated on the North Devon coast and offer low cost gameshooting.
There has been a shoot at Hescott for over 30 years. The beautiful scenery and great sport keeps bringing people back year after year. The shoot is modest in size, offering between 10 and 12 days shooting each season with bags of between 30 and 40. There is always a sprinkling of woodcock and previous bags have included the odd snipe or duck.
The pheasants are put to wood early and so are fully grown, with full tails, long before the first shoot of the season. The combination of strong birds and some steep terrain ensures tall, fast pheasants, which are however shootable without recourse to magnum loads and long barrels. More modest shots will be able to claim their share of the bag while having the opportunity to bring down some truly high birds.
Lunch is taken at a local farmhouse and is a warming, hearty meal guaranteed to fortify you against any inclement afternoon weather. The temptation to linger too long over lunch will be resisted in order to finish in good time and allow the birds back to roost.

I have been on a number of shoots across the country for many years this is one of the best shoots I have come across. The quality of the birds are outstanding, as for the driven high birds let’s say you need to brush up on your shooting skills. The host keeps you informed on how’s the days going and the beaters and dog handlers are first class with some full of character. Shot some outstanding high birds in November, will continue to support.
