Hayne Barton is in the hamlet of Hollacombe, about 2 miles from Holsworthy.

It is a DIY syndicate that has been run by the same brothers for 30 years. It is a beat one stand one shoot with standing guns pegged, shooting good birds going back in the line later in the year.

The ground is rolling grass fields with big beech woods that where originaly planted for fox hunting, withys, gorsey banks, fir plantation, and reedy fields for abit of walked up.

The bag is mainly pheasants with a few woodcock, pigeon, snipe and the odd duck.  The pheasants are put down in 6 pens in late July and we all have to do some work getting pens ready, keepering, putting wheat around ect.

We shoot every Monday from early November. We have 2 teams of 5-6, alternating drives each week moving up 2 numbers every 2 weeks.

We meet at 9 o'clock, do 3-4 drives in the morning, have packlunch in our cabin and then a few more in the afternoon. There is alot of ground here and we can never do it all in one day.We get around the shoot on quad bike and trailer.

We always have a good day, a laugh, and shoot some nice birds.
