Hawke Homes Sporting is pleased to offer exclusive access to the outstanding drives on the hills, valleys, and by the ancient woodlands nestled within the privately-owned Thorne Farm Sporting Estate, Devon adjacent to some of the UK's best-regarded Game Shoots. We are truly simulated. You will not see a high tower or trap on the drives, just in the same way you will not know where the live game might flush from on a traditional shoot because our topography is unrivaled.
We offer year-round simulated game days, for teams of 12-18 Guns (larger groups optional). We can also book for individuals and smaller groups if you don’t have a full team. With a combination of high bird drives, pheasant, partridge, grouse, and duck you are spoilt for choice. Suitable for those looking to warm up for the game season or simply, enjoy an exhilarating and hospitable day out with friends, we offer a realistic experience as close to a live game day as you will find in the UK today, and your hospitality is simply as delicious and plentiful as you would wish for.
Your hosts know how to make your day exciting and unique. We truly bespoke your day and offer limited mixed game days in Season. Loaders and instruction can be provided on request.
Hospitality
All hospitality is bespoke to the Guns requirements on the day, from full breakfasts to bacon rolls, from homemade savories and deli in the field , to hors' oeuvres and Pimms, concluding with the options of an Afternoon Tea, seated Barbecue, or a jaunt to our affiliated Inn where the options for pub classics to fine dining are available. Our Hosting Barn is available for private hire and corporate events.
Topography
The Thorne Farm Sporting Estate is located in Stoodleigh, North Devon, 800 feet above sea level and under Europe’s first Dark Sky Reserve. It is accessible and yet beautifully rural, approached from a winding Devon lane, just past the National Hunt Galllops, of the Racing Yard, where you are welcomed by a long driveway that leads you into the heart of the Estate. The shooting grounds are spread out over 250 acres of land and comprise ancient woodlands, arable crops, game cover, and the fully-equipped National Hunt racing yard, all surrounded by rolling green fields
Conservation Efforts
At the Estate we are constantly investing in conservation, sustainability, and respecting our natural habitat, focusing our work on long-term management of both the land and game stock.
There are many streams, lakes, and ponds where wild ducks settle on the waters which they share with the wild cress. The red deer herds keep a watchful eye on the Pheasants and Partridge which are established throughout the Estate and consequently, there is no shortage of wildlife to preserve.
We are part of the Countryside Stewardship Scheme and registered with the Organic Food Federation for all the land and livestock at the Thorne Farm Sporting Estate.

Great value for money. The Devon topography was perfect to provide some challenging targets and the hospitality was excellent. 100% worth the drive to Devon from Yorkshire. We will definitely be returning this year.
