Sutton Scarsdale Shoot

Sutton Scarsdale Shooting Syndicate

Sutton Scarsdale Shooting Syndicate is able to offer shooting for a gun or a pair of guns on selected dates throughout the season shooting on Saturdays.

Availability on a well established syndicate shoot in North Derbyshire near Junction 29 of the M1 for a single or a pair of guns on selected dates. We are a keepered shoot and shoot partridge predominantly in September and October with mixed partridge and pheasant days thereafter.  The shoot typically looks for bags around 175-225 on birds driven from cover crops early in the year and includes some pheasant flushed from woodland later on.

The shoot is undulating farmland with some woods and offers a range of presented birds throughout the days that should satisfy most guns. We Shoot over 2000 acres

We meet at 8.30 and aim to have introductions and safety talk, draw pegs and move off for 9am.
Ground game is not shot on shoot days
Guns will be helped throughout the day by the shoot captain and the members of the syndicate.

We number left to right, and move up three, and usually shoot eight guns.  Vehicle access is good, but some short walks to pegs are to be expected.

We typically shoot two drives before breaking for a social interlude with refreshments. This is usually a game/pork pie with an optional sloe gin. Another one or two drives are shot before we break for an informal lunch with the teams in our gun room.
After lunch we usually have another three drives and then meet again at  the end of the day. The guns to be presented with their brace from our keeper.

The total cost is £625 based on a 175 bird day + - 10%. Underage and overage charged at £28 per bird.

Accomadation is available locally with the shoot being within easy access of junction 29 of the M1 and being near to Chesterfield and Mansfield
