Our shooting guests will stay at the recently renovated manor house-hotel, Chateau Zabreh, located on the eastern edge of Ostrava in a secluded setting. Zabreh combines first-class accommodation with spacious rooms (decorated with hunting trophies) and local and international cuisine.
The renowned shooting estate with its 22 unique drives set up by Rothschild is just 30 minutes away from Zabreh.
Driven pheasant shooting is offered from mid October but is principally conducted from November through to January. We are privileged to have the pheasant shooting rights on the historic pheasant estate and combine with them the opportunity for first class dining and accommodation facilities.
The estate was the property of the Rothschild family a century ago. They established fine pheasant shooting in 1858. All the non-arable land has been crafted for pheasant shooting over many years. Now owned by a timber company, they manage the logging business to maximize the topography design and do selective clear-cutting of timber and game crop planting to ensure the sporting quality of the high-flying pheasants for the discerning shooter.
This estate is able to use its outstanding topography to show challenging and spectacular birds from a mix of established woodland and strategically sited cover crops. Each gun will be assigned a loader who will take care of your guns, cartridges and score your birds. Each drive is opened and closed by a group of traditional horn blowers. At the end of the shooting day the bag is laid out in traditional patterns and the horn blowers play to pay respect to the prey.
Non-shooting guests are welcome and will either join the guns on the shoot or will be taken to local sights.
