Low House Estate

The Low House Estate Shoot is located just north of the village of Armathwaite in the stunning Eden Valley in Cumbria. The shooting on the Estate extends over approx 1700 acres, divided by the river, with the bulk of the shooting out of or over mature woodland with game/cover crops for added variety. The topography of the ground allows us to show quality high pheasants with our signature drive, Hill Top, peaking at 500' above sea level.

The shoot, which has been established for 50 years, is run by the owner in conjunction with his gamekeeper and the owner organises each individual day which is for 8 single-Guns. If required we can provide bacon butties and coffee/tea on arrival otherwise the team should be at Low House before 9.15 for a prompt 9.30 start; generally there will be 4 drives in the morning, includin a break for 'elevenses' followed by lunch at the house in our Shoot Room and then 2 afternoon drives and finishing off with tea, again back at the house with an opportunity to relive the day in front of a blazing log-fire.

Each guest will leave with a Shoot Card and a brace of pheasants,as they wish- if preferred we can offer the birds oven-ready out of the chiller.

As there is some travelling between drives it is helpful, but not essential, if guns can bring some 4WD transport but arrangements can be made if this is not possible.

We do not offer accomodation to shooting parties but there is accomodation available in pubs & hotels in the neighbouring villages of Armathwaite, Ainstable and Wetheral - we are happy to provide details. We may also be able to offer a private dinner to any shooting party, subject to prior booking and confirmation, and are happy to discuss this with potential clients. We are able to look after guests' belongings if required during the day's shooting and we can also provide cartridges, at cost, if convenient.
