The shoot at Pentillie is world renowned for presenting high, fast and challenging birds. The exhilarating pheasant shoot takes advantage of some of the deep valleys that run into the River Tamar.
During the summer months the estate offers incredible full days clay shooting, taking advantage of the estate’s challenging topography, while also adding more picturesque drives that also make the most of Pentillie’s wonderful views of the surrounding countryside and river valley.
Sixteen guns share eight pegs on each drive, one gun loads (and offers ‘encouragement’) while the other shoots. Roles are reversed mid-drive. We guarantee no shortage of ‘birds’, with at least 6,000 clay pigeons flying over the guns throughout the day!
Hospitality
Guns have a unique opportunity to stay in the Castle too. The nine en-suite double bedrooms provide the perfect number of rooms for a group of friends or colleagues to get together in the luxurious and private surroundings of the Castle. A delicious dinner is served in the dining room where guns can get to know each other, or indeed start the ‘banter’ that accompanies many shoot days!
Topography
Musto took advantage of the estate’s topography for their 2016 photoshoot. Their video really shows the estate at it’s best. Apologies for the lack of pheasants – it was shot out of season, but still gives you a good idea.
