The Ogbeare Hall shoot was originally established at the start of the 20th Century. After four decades of neglect the shoot has been brought back to its former glory. Run as a family shoot we offer out a few days of shooting each year. The shoot is located deep in the North Cornish countryside but is conveniently located a few miles off the A30 at Launceston. With rollling hills and deep wooded river valleys the shoot offers challenging high pheasants and tricky snap shooting on the wooded valley floors. As well as well-presented high pheasants, there are an abundance of native sporting birds including pidgeons, woodcock (we average 8-10 a shoot) and wild duck.
We pride ourselves on our generous and friendly hospitalty. Guns meet at The Hall for a coffee prior to the shoot. Hot local sausages and a pick me up will be offered at elevenes and a harty and traditional three course lunch will be served in The Great Hall. After the shoot we offer tea and cakes, and for those not driving perhaps something a little stronger, in front of a roaring log fire.
The keeper manages a tight team of friendly beaters and pickers who will make sure the birds are presented at their best throughout the day. Although well run, the shoot avoids strict formality and aims to make the day enjoyable for all those partaking.
