Set in 4,000 acres of Cambridgeshire Arable, Parkland & Ancient Woodland, The Abbots Ripton Estate Shoot has historically been reserved for private guest invitations until ver recently. The Estate offers fast and exciting, mixed Pheasant and Partridge shooting using well established and ideally placed game cover cropping. Early season days are predominantly French Partridge and later in the season the ancient woodland offers picturesque yet challenging pheasant drives. Teamed with a high standard of hospitality we aim to make a day in the field with us one to remember.
Topography
East Anglian, plentiful hedgerows and planted tree belts to support fast partridge shooting. The woodlands are managed with shooting and conservation in mind and offer drives out into open ground and internally for fast snap - style shooting.
Conservation Efforts
The Estate aims to manage shooting, conservation & farming hand in hand. With various conservation and stewardship schemes in place to facilitate this mission. From SFI agreements, mid tier stewardship and numerous woodland management schemes, to the considerable efforts the estate goes to to ensure that our harvested game goes into local food production. We take conservation and environmental sustainability very seriously. Our Estate pub The Elm regularly lists our game and venison through the seasons on its menu and you’ll be sure to find some of our game being served during your shoot day.

A rare opportunity to shoot a very private shoot, we were on the first day of the season so birds were plentiful and provided the guns with a variety of challenging targets, you had to pick through the large flushes to find what you wanted to have a go at, as with many beginning of the season shoots. We were made very welcome from beginning to end and never felt rushed or pressured to shoot more than we wanted too. And was just what we wanted from an early season get together with mates!
