We are a family-run shoot based on about 1000 acres of the land we farm in the Ouse valley of South West Cambridgeshire. Easily accessible from all over the country we are only a few miles from the A1 and A14, and only 60 miles from central London. Our aim is always to provide exciting and varied shooting with an emphasis on quality, and a very relaxed atmosphere.
We shoot both pheasants and partridges from a wide variety of drives. These include large cover crops, spinneys and a block of 100 acres of ancient woodland. Best use is made of any undulating topography as well as the large hedgerows that form part of our award winning conservation scheme.
The ancient woodland provides thrilling drives over tall trees and the opportunity to fly birds back from strategically placed covers.
We were runners up in the East Anglian grey partridge awards this year.
A popular start to the day is breakfast at the shoot-friendly George Hotel in nearby Buckden, or with coffee at the farm. Lunch is taken in our newly-converted shoot room with home-cooked food provided to your requirements. Following the afternoon shooting enjoy tea and cakes back at the shoot room.
Guns are transported in our unique minibus with the day being hosted by one of the family.
Only a few days are let each year with the remainder used by the family.
We can provide 150 - 250 bird days depending on the time of year.
Accommodation can be provided at the award-winning George Hotel (subject to availability). They also have a private dining room for the night before, or after shooting, if required.
