Pheasant
Partridge
Woodcock
Pigeon

Family shoot established since 1933 deep in the heart of the Chiltern Hills with mixture of pheasant and partridge, with woodcock. We shoot over a thousand acres of farmland, pasture and woods. The shoot is run by the owner.

All drives are in small intimate rolling valleys presenting high challenging birds or later in the season in beautiful Chiltern beech woods.

Price includes  coffee on arrival, lunch and tea with a mid morning break for the gun and a guest. We eat in the main house. The bag is always between 80 - 120 depending on the standard of shooting but the ratio with the best guns has rarely been better than 3 shots to 1 bird. Price is per gun and not based on bag size.

We are a member of the Shoot Assurance Scheme.

We have a resident fully qualified Shooting Instructor who can be booked as required.

Dogs and children welcome. Especially those learning how to shoot. We have helped many young guns claim their first pheasant, partridge and woodcock - and of course a pigeon.

Lovely shoot. Attended the first day of their 2017 season. Plenty of birds with some testing drives set in beautiful rolling Chiltern hills. The day was run by the owner who was on hand to welcome everyone and lead us to our pegs. Good number of beaters, some of who have been involved with the shoot for over 30 years which speaks volumes. Will certainly be going back again next year.

I run my own roaming syndicate shooting high to extreme birds in the borders and Yorkshire. This year on a recommendation from a friend I shot twice at LHE. I was very pleasantly surpised. The shooting was excellent with large numbers of birds being presented despite the warm weather. The height of the birds varied from the traditional, flushed over very high hedges, to high as the pegs are placed in the bottom of the valleys. There are also drives in the middle of woods for snap shooting thus catering for all tastes. There were a few regular guns in the team and I felt immediately welcome. The shooting host and family are delightful and the food delicious. I am hoping to be allowed back next year.

I shot at Little Hampden in November 2010 and I will definitely be returning next year. It is very much a family shoot and you are made to feel welcome as soon as you arrive. All of the drives were good and there was an excellent number of birds for each drive - the shooting was both challenging and enjoyable, which is the way it should be! The locations of the drives are stunning, shooting in the Chiltern Hills is amongst my favourite shoots so far and the hospitality for the day made it all the more enjoyable.
