The Wasing Shoot’s 2019-2020 season offers top quality shooting on a beautiful 4000 acre estate nestled in the heart of the Berkshire countryside - offering driven pheasant days of varying sizes at very reasonable prices, and only one hour out of central London...

The Wasing Shoot is an integral element of the Estate’s identity, which has been under the same ownership for over 250 years.  The natural landscape provides a highly varied terrain consisting of parkland and farmland, combined with 1000 acres of established woodland and over 100 acres of lakes – all within the beautiful Kennet Valley.  We have used this to full advantage and in utilising the exceptional hospitality experience of the award winning Wasing Park wedding and events venue, we hope to have created the perfect environment for a day of outstanding shooting.

Throughout the season we offer both larger driven pheasant days and 'mini-driven' days - all our days offer great fun and challenging sport no matter the size, and it is rare to end a day without a brace or two of wild duck or woodcock in the bag.  Our Head keeper, Mark and Under Keeper, Jamie, offer their lifelong experience of the area, and their combined knowledge of the estate and their stock, and the respect and obedience of their team, ensures that each and every shoot day is a success.

And let us not forget the shoot lunch – our delightful sporting lodge located in the Secret Walled Garden offers a warm and inviting place to use as a base for the day, and lunches are of exceptional quality, using locally sourced and home-grown home-shot ingredients wherever possible.

Extend your stay and let our chef create a bespoke evening menu for you in our exclusive Stables Lodge, relax in front of the wood burning stove with a welcoming glass of Sloe Gin before retreating to our luxury boutique bedrooms overlooking magnificent gardens and countryside.

Here at Wasing we pride ourselves on our flexibility and ability to create each day around the individual’s specifications, and we feel that this unique venue is well worth a visit!

Hospitality

Breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea are prepared by Wasing Park's Chef and all the team are passionate about providing the best possible level of hospitality to all our guns and guests.

Topography

A farming landscape characterised by a mixed patchwork of parkland and arable fields. The land rises either side of the River Enbourne and includes wetland and reedbeds at the confluence of the Enbourne and The Kennet. Wasing's 6 blocks of woodland ranging from 8 acres to over 300 acres, gives a broad range of shooting experience. The whole is enhanced by 110 acres of wild bird covers, including 9 fishing lakes and numerous other wetland and heathland habitats.

Mr Jock Glover

I have shot here twice doing their 50 bird mini driven days and on both occasions we have had a super day, been well looked after and been shown a variety of birds in a wide variety of terrain. Well worth a visit.
