SHEFFORD PARK SHOOT
Shefford Park shoot is a sporting club that runs a traditional shoot near Hungerford. It offers some of the most sporting pheasant and partridge shooting there is, in an enjoyable and freindly environment.
We put on enjoyable 200-350+ bird days. The pheasants and partridges are fast and high making it both challenging and sporting.
A normal day consists of meeting in the morning at 9am at the local pub, were tea and coffee will be provided. The safety speech is given to all the guns, with pegs being drawn after. We will then move off for two drives culminating in elevenses. Then another two drives will take places leading nicely onto a well earnt delicious lunch in the pub's private dinning room. The after lunch drives will depend on the bag shot before lunch.
We can do all sorts of different eleven's, from the classic winter warmer soup and sausages to smoked salmon and champagne, but normally do BBQ partridge and choritzo kebabs and spicy partridge legs. Any special requests such as instructors, guns, cartridges, photographer or anything else that we can do to make your day more enjoyable, can be organised for the day with prior notice.
Shefford park shoot is located just out side Hungerford only an hour from London. There are some very good pubs with great accommodation that we are happy to recommend if you are wanting to stay the night before.

Hospitality
We pride ourselves on putting on a fantastic days sport in a fun and relaxed environment. We want our guest to leave having enjoyed the whole day from great sport to great hospitality.
Birds
All of our drives present fun and challenging birds, some high partridge and pheasants over tall beech trees at the top of a valley, some off of grass banks, some over rolling arable and some more traditional partridge over hedges. We have a good mix of drives to go to.
Topography
Rolling arable land and woodland, with strategically placed cover crops to give the most sporting of birds.
Conservation Efforts
Every year we try to plant native trees around the shoot as well as planting up hedges.
About the hosts
George Hanbury normally hosts the days, but if he is unable to one of his very capable team will step in to host the day making sure that everyone goes home having enjoyed their day.
Travel information
We have a gun bus, an old ambulance landrover, which guests are very welcome to use. However if they wish to use their own transport that is absolutely no problem.

I have shot at Shefford Park on more than one occasion and it’s always a really enjoyable fun day, the host look after us all brilliantly with delicious elevenses! All guns seem to get plenty of shooting. I couldn’t recommend this shoot more and it’s very easy from London!

Last season, I was fortunate enough to be invited to shoot on this glorious picturesque estate. Not only did this shoot offer stunning scenery, but also equally impressive driven birds. The partridge where fast and plentiful while the pheasants where high and strong on the wing, making for spectacular and challenging shooting. We opted to have the shoot lunch in the pheasant inn, which did not fail to meet expectations with a warm, relaxed feel to it. The day was well hosted and the atmosphere was warm, relaxing and friendly. All in all it was a great day which will be remembered. Due to my satisfaction last season I have opted to take a day this season for my self and my own team of guns. I continue to look forward to my day. In conclusion I would highly recommend Shefford Park shoot due to its attention to detail, the glorious birds it presents. Moreover the superb accommodation, and food within close proximity to the shoot is an added bonus.

A very enjoyable day with testing birds in a charming setting. The birds spread nicely down the line with some cracking early season partridges being shown. The entire operation was run very efficiently by George with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere from the go. Would recommend.
