THE LUTON HOO ESTATE
The Luton Hoo Estate is set in over 1200 acres of prime countryside on the Hertfordshire /Bedfordshire border, just a short trip from London and immediately north of the beautiful Hertfordshire towns of Harpenden and St Albans. There is easy access to the Estate by car (2 mins from Jnc10 of the M1: 30mins from central london), train (Luton Parkway 5mins), or plane (Luton Airport 10 mins) and accommodation immediately on the doorstep.
Luton Hoo offers shooting for complete teams of 8/10 guns on predominantly rolling chiltern partridge ground with a number of good pheasant drives. A typical shoot day consists of 4-6 drives with a typical bag size of 150 birds, although larger days can be catered for. The shoot provides mixed partridge and pheasant shooting from covers and more woodland based drives.
The shoot runs in a traditional yet relaxed atmosphere with guns experiencing some exciting drives amongst some striking countryside. A warm welcome awaits the teams on arrival, with our own 'in-house' chef serving coffee and bacon rolls to start the day. A quick brief and the guns are usually on-peg by 0930 to start the days shooting. Transport is provided with a modern gun trailer moving the guns from drive to drive allowing plenty of opportunity to chat and relax between drives. A mid morning snack and drinks help sustain the guns, again provided by the Estate chef. At the finish of the day a three course meal is served complete with wine and beer in our traditional shooting lodge.
The Luton Hoo Shoot has been built on decades of experience and commitment, and continues to provide exciting and challenging shooting for teams of guns whilst maintaining the high standards expected from this historic country estate.
Luton Hoo Estate also hold simulated game days which are a perfect way to warm up for the game season with plenty of realistic and challenging sporting clays. Our Simulated Game days take a very similar form to our traditional driven days with full hospitality throughout. A perfect way to spend a day with friends, family or corporate clients, all set within the beautiful Bedfordshire countryside. At very short notice Edward and his shoot staff put on an excellent days sport and a total British shooting experience for a team of international VIP guests that we had. The logistical support Luton Hoo provided to make the day a success was done effortlessly and seamlessly. The welcome our guests received from Edward and all of his staff was warm and sincere. The hospitality throughout the day was of near Michelin standard. Certainly the best fare I have experienced on a shoot in the UK. The loaders used for double gunning were polished, professional and very courteous. The gamekeeper marshalled his beating teams with a deft touch which meant the Guns had birds flushing over them constantly throughout each of the five x 20 plus minute drives. The birds were plentiful, in excellent condition and flew well. Overall, an excellent day. We shall certainly be taking more clients back to Luton Hoo. Gary Creighton British Country Sports.

Went to Luton Hoo today with my team of guns, had a fantastic day. Id like to say a massive thank you to head keeper Paul and his team for a cracking day. Returning again in Jan and next season we all had some testing shooting in that wind and the hospitality was fantastic too. So once again a big thanks for a cracking day well worth a visit.

I've been privileged to be invited on two driven shoot days at Luton Hoo During the 20112012 season. Plenty of good birds on all the pegs I stood at. Great hospitality from the Shoot Captain, friendly beaters, quality birds and a very knowledgeable, affable Head Keeper combined with great food throughout the day made for a fantastic experience. I will be visiting again this year and understand that new drives and expanded covers will provide even better sport. Highly recommended.
