El Monte is a family run business based in the heart of Conlara Valley in the San Luis Province border with southwest Córdoba. The Alberdi family and their team have been running the shoot for over 15 years now with great success. A trip you will never forget, you will leave and already be thinking about booking the following year.

Hospitality

Hospitality is all included in the price of the day, it consists of breakfast in the morning, an infield elevenses/lunch break and 2 course meal taken in the gun room in the evening .

Accommodation

The property features a luxurious and tastefully decorated English country home. Ideal for groups up to 10 guests, the lodge offers 6 private rooms, each with a King size or 2 single beds when shared. Private social area next to bedrooms area. Sitting area with fireplace, dining room, veranda all around.

Birds

At El Monte, mornings begin with fast action and endless birds. Flights come in waves — large quantities moving across the valley, with patterns that shift according to the wind and your distance from the monte (the woods). You’ll enjoy a perfect mix of high, challenging crossers and lower, fast targets that keep every stand exciting. Always varied, always abundant — and always great fun.

Topography

El Monte lodge is nestled between high hills, valleys, woods, and virgin low forest surrounding fields of peanut, wheat, sorghum, and corn, while plenty of irrigation pivots and feed lots dot the area. It's the perfect combination of components that create some of the best volume shooting known to man. Their specialty is high volume pass-shooting for doves, and the unique experience of decoyed pigeon hunts. The hunting season in El Monte runs from March to September. Pigeons are prime from April to July. The habitat is so well-suited for the birds that the doves do not even migrate.

Conservation Efforts

El Monte is a proud member of CATCYC, the Argentine Hunting and Conservation Chamber. Through this partnership, part of every license fee supports local wildlife management and sustainable hunting in our region.

Our mission is to educate ministers and the local community on responsible practices that protect habitats while controlling overpopulated species. We focus on doves and pigeons, which are considered a pest in our province, helping to reduce agricultural damage and maintain balance.

Guests are invited to take part — learning about conservation initiatives and seeing how responsible hunting and thriving wildlife can exist side by side.

Woods and virgin low forest surround the sunflower, peanut, sorghum and cornfields while plenty of irrigation pivots and first feedlots dot the area. It’s perfect for nesting, roosting and it produces plenty of feed. The variety of shooting opportunities is the focus: decoyed pigeons or dove and pigeon flyways in a varied habitat and landscape conditions.
