Set in the rolling Angus countryside Stracathro boasts over 2600 acres of arable land, 600 acres of woodland, 17 miles of maintained hedgerows and 5 miles of rivers and burns. All this makes for great sport wether it is fur, fin or feather.
Situated in between the major cities of Dundee(30 miles) and Aberdeen(40 miles) only minutes from the A90, Stracathro is easily accessible. The beautiful village of Edzell with its historic Dalhousie arch and castle is also just a few minutes drive.
Our signature drive is by the confluence of the Cruik Water and the North Esk, where the birds are driven over the former, and for some of the guns where the latter forms the backdrop.
We can offer driven days of partridge and pheasants of up to 200 birds. We tend to start in the middle of October through to the end of January. Most of the shooting is from gamecrops and some woods are incorporated in the drives.
This season we are dramatically increasing the game crop and developing several new drives to enhance the already popular and established ones. At Stracathro we can offer you full driven, mini driven and walked up shooting as well as roe stalking and pigeon shooting.
A newly refurbished shoot lodge with roaring open fire will be at your disposal along with a choice of hospitality packages to compliment your day.
