Ducks and goose shooting in Scotland

 We are located in the North East of Scotland, in Aberdeenshire The nearest airport is Aberdeen.

Weekly trip Arrival on Sunday after 2 p.m., welcome and installation in the cottage Evening meal provided in self-service. MONDAY : 1h30 before sunrise, departure to the hunting area for a morning flight over decoys. We use sometimes 600 decoys, to can provide the best shooting The hides are make the same morning 2 hunters per hide or individual layout blind At the latest, around 11/12 H we leave the feeding area, return to the cottage for the meal. I am the only one to make the decision when to leave the hunting area. 2 hours before sunset we take the road to a wetland to hunt waterfowl, ducks and geese or to the woods, marshes, depending on the weather and time of year. TUESDAY to SATURDAY, same as Monday Sunday morning, departure from the Cottage before 10 a.m.

3 days trip, arrival on Sunday or Wednesday

Needless to say, it is impossible to guarantee a quantified result. We make on average between 100 and 150 geese per week and then as many ducks and pigeons. The weather and the ability of the hunters are factors that come into play. We guarantee the use of the best gear available on the market, layout blind, flocked decoys, sillosocks, hypaflap, ect, ect. We have a solid experience in waterfowling, in Scotland, and all over the world I have had goose fever since 1984 , while I shot my first goose in Belgium. I started guiding in the 90 , trying different countries, but it's in Scotland that I decided to live and stay. I manage 3 big areas near and even on RSPB reserves where there are thousands of geese all season. Farmers trust me for the management of their fields, and for my respect for their land and wildlife . The full moon can be  very good in october and november with a lot of new birds coming from North, but it can be also difficult with geese who feed under the moon The ducks are the same, we feed our ponds, sometimes they come early and everybody can enjoy, sometimes teals come so late that you can't see them and just ear a splash, and sometimes, they just decide to don't come at all... The months of October and November are the best for me because we have more time to hunt, after the time change, night falls at 4 p.m As I put a bag limit, the hunting results are the same at the start or end of the season, the big difference is in the organization of the day. To continue our sport , we can't shoot big bags every day and need to be reasonable. At the start of the season, there is a big break between the morning flight and the evening flight, at the end of the season, this break is sometimes very short. I try to do my best to ensure that your holidays  go as well as possible, the cottage, the meals, the organization and the equipment will be up to the task, in terms of the weather and the direction of the flights of geese, I have not yet mastered that. I can make the decision to cancel a morning flight for geese over decoys if I am convinced of a blank and offer another activity, this is still very rare, but let me specify. Meals are all scheduled from Sunday evening to Saturday noon. Drinks are not included Our cook takes care to make your stay in the cottage as pleasant as possible, please respect the house rules (non-smoking, slippers, it's carpet, so don't come home with your boots like some 'we have already done….) Rooms are made every morning, unless you don't want them You can ask to wash your laundry if necessary You can specify upon arrival if you have certain dietary requirements.

Infos *We have kennels for the dogs *We ask that all the birds be taken home or processed here, we can provide a large smoker to take home all your birds ready to eat. *At the lodge, when you finish your day and want to enjoy a drink, we have a bar with different wysky if you want to try different ones all the other drinks, we sell per bottle at a affordable price, red wine is 8 £,  everything else is the price of the shop + a small fee. *You will not have a crazy bar bill on your stay
