GunsOnPegs, the popular game shooting website that helps shooting enthusiasts to plan the best days of their lives, is launching a new dating service to help that same community to plan the best lays of their lives too. The platform - GunsOnBeds - will help the shooting, fishing and deer stalking community to find if not love, then lust at the very least.
GunsOnBeds - Plan the best lays of your life
Modern dating is all about apps, and although a 2016 study found that men holding a fish in their profile picture were found to be more attractive than men without, people can sometimes be wary of mentioning their love of traditional countryside activities in their Tinder or Bumble profile. GunsOnBeds aims to make this problem a thing of the past by creating a safe space for shooting singletons to meet like-minded people.

I’m a decent looking bloke, and have no trouble getting matches on other dating platforms, but as soon as I mention my passion for shooting I get ghosted, so I’m yet to find myself a nice girl to share my peg with. All I’m looking for is someone to show off my pheasant plucking skills to, is that too much to ask?

Grouse moor owner and hot shot Polly Wanakraka, 26, was also quick to pre-register for the new service, and is keen to find someone to take out on the moor. “I love grouse shooting, and want to meet someone to share my butt with,” she said.
Another love-lorn gun, Rusty Barrel, also complained about the difficulty of finding someone who understands the shooting lifestyle: “I find that I meet someone nice, but they find it hard to relate to my chat about the size of my load or the length of my barrels, so relationships just kinda fizzle out.”

Aphrodite Macnab, a self-described gun-geek of mixed Greek and Scotish heritage, said: “I'm a traditionalist at heart so I like to start off with a bit of side-by-side but move on to over-and-under action as the season progresses. I like to look after my guns, so I'm looking for someone who'll be happy to lend me their bore-snake.”
It is not just youngsters signing up either. Geoff Rouse, 65, said: “As an older gentleman who loves rough shooting I sometimes find that I have difficulty when it comes to crossing fences in the field. I’d love to meet a nice lady to help me get my leg over.”
John Thomas, Head of Relationships at GunsOnBeds said:
We’re really excited about this new venture, which is very much in keeping with our ethos of connecting the shooting community. We know that lots of relationships are formed in the field, and we know of several couples who met on a shoot day that they booked through GunsOnPegs. GunsOnBeds will facilitate even more of these happy stories. But we also know that there are those who will just be looking for a bit of fun, after all, when it comes to both shooting and dating, the rule of thumb is “the more banging the better.
Singles shoot days
As well as offering a digital platform, GunsOnBeds is planning on offering a series of “singles shoot days” at exclusive estates around the UK, at which lonely game shots looking for companionship will enjoy a day’s shooting in the company of other similarly single Guns. To be the first to know about these dates, send an email to theteam@gunsonpegs.com.
