The INEOS Grenadier Countryside Champion - Who will you nominate?

The INEOS Grenadier Countryside Champion Award will be given to an unsung, grassroots hero who is having a significant positive social, economic or environmental impact - or a combination of all three - in the rural community. This impact could be through an organisation that they have responsibility in or in a personal capacity. The winner will embody the “Grenadier spirit” of dependability, hard work and dedication to the countryside.

Members of the public will be able to nominate their Countryside Champion from Monday 17th January 2022. When nominations close at the end of February, a shortlist will be drawn up, from which an eventual winner will be selected.

The Judging Panel

The winner will be chosen by a panel of highly qualified judges, chaired by James Horne - Chairman of GunsOnPegs and Chair of the Gunmakers Charitable Trust. The rest of the Judging Panel includes:

• Toby Ecuyer - Head of Design, INEOS Automotive
• Teresa Dent - CEO of Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust
• Mark Tufnell - President of Country Land and Business Association
• Ross Murray - Chairman of Knight Frank Rural Asset Management
• Selena Barr - Editorial Director of Fieldsports Journal & Managing Director of Tweed Media
• Tim Bonner - CEO of Countryside Alliance

The Prize

The INEOS Grenadier Countryside Champion will have the unique opportunity to work with the judges to see how they can provide assistance to their work or projects, and where appropriate the winners will also receive a free advertising campaign on GunsOnPegs. The winner will also receive a unique trophy, and be profiled in an article on GunsOnPegs, as well as being invited to appear on the popular GunsOnPegs Podcast.

The Grenadier is a built-on-purpose 4X4, designed and engineered for those who need a reliable workhorse to get the job done. Partnering with GunsOnPegs for the Countryside Champion award just made sense to us. We want to recognise and celebrate those who embody the Grenadier spirit – hardworking and dependable.

The Countryside Champion competition is a great way to showcase those people who, through hard work and dedication, give back to the rural community and make it a great place to live, work and play.

Chris Horne, Managing Director of GunsOnPegs said:

Here at GunsOnPegs we are dedicated to supporting sustainability and best practice in game shooting, and we know how important game shooting is to the UK’s rural environment and communities. We also know that outside of game shooting there is an army of unsung farmers, landowners, volunteers and others who are as passionate about the countryside as the shooting community.

Together with INEOS Automotive, we are in search of an individual who deserves recognition for going above and beyond in the countryside. If you know someone who is a champion of our beautiful countryside, do not hesitate to nominate them!

GunsOnPegs and INEOS Grenadier have been working together for the last 18 months, and are two brands that are closely aligned. Both combine a passion for a life lived in the great outdoors with innovative approaches in well-established sectors.

The Grenadier’s no-nonsense, rugged engineering and design inspired by the great 4x4s of the past are a perfect blend for the UK’s fieldsports and rural communities.
