How good is your shooting knowledge?

How good is your shooting knowledge?

GunsOnPegs · 7 Dec 2018

Game management is regularly opposed by those who dislike shooting, despite the conservation benefits it can bring. In the modern age, where online communication can increase a polarisation of opinions and campaigning, it is even more important that debates are well-informed and based on robust evidence. Building and demonstrating your knowledge is therefore key.

The Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust have launched 'The Knowledge' which is designed to educate guns on the role shooting plays in conservation. Available online and in a book, The Knowledge aims to fill the conservation gap in the existing range of shooting resources, along with the ability to become an Accredited Game Shot by taking the online test.

It is vital that a balanced case is made for gamebird management. Some notable, high profile opinions published recently have lacked this balance. As an evidence-based research organisation, the GWCT would seek to put that right. With the correct knowledge, individual Guns can also help make that happen.

The Sample Test

GunsOnPegs have teamed up with the GWCT to provide a free sample test which gives guns the ability to earn a badge in your online profile which will be shown to shoots when you send an enquiry through GunsOnPegs. We highly encourage guns to go a step further and take the full test which will also be shown to shoots to give you further credibility when enquiring to a new shoot.

To get your online badge, you must get 4 out of the 5 sample questions correct. For us to be able update your profile if you pass, please use the same email as your GunsOnPegs account. Profiles will be updated within 7 days.

Take the sample test below or click here to head straight for your accreditation.
