As part of its objective to secure new markets for game meat at home and overseas, the BGA continues to work with the UK’s game processors – from smaller artisanal game processors working at a local level to larger operators working on an international basis.

Matt Tough, Commercial Director of the BGA said, “The BGA is delighted to have these fantastic businesses on board stocking the BGA’s innovative commercial game products. At the BGA, we pioneer a standard that ensures animal welfare and environmental impact are a top priority. Putting game on the map with these businesses is only the beginning, we have some very big and exciting news to announce soon.”
The BGA will continue to use the UK’s reputation for high quality food and drink, with high standards of traceability and sustainability, aiming to further increase overseas demand for game. For game to receive BGA assurance, it must be reared, shot and processed according to strict guidelines governing everything from how the birds are treated with antibiotics to the way shoots manage natural habitats – and all these regulations guarantee BGA-assured produce to be sustainable, ethical and high quality. By choosing the BGA, these new wholesalers and restaurants are choosing the absolute best for their customers.
