The Simon Weston Sporting Challenge Testimonial Day

The Simon Weston Sporting Challenge Testimonial Day

GunsOnPegs · 29 Oct 2021

E.J. Churchill Shooting Ground plays host to The Simon Weston Sporting Challenge, a testimonial day for this remarkable character, on 25th November 2021.

When the Sir Galahad was destroyed in the Bluff Cove air attack during the Falklands War in 1982, Simon Weston was on board as a serving Welsh Guardsman. He was severely injured, sustaining burns to 46% of his body and changing his life forever. Since then, he has become an inspiration and a national treasure for his courage and determination to overcome his injuries and redefine his role in life. His message is one of achievement, triumph in the face of adversity and seizing every moment.

Simon is, quite simply, a phenomenal person and an example to all Despite the challenges he has faced, he has spent his life giving back and helping others with no expectation of anything in return. This extraordinary day gives us all a chance to mark Simon's achievements and to give something back ourselves to this great man with a fantastic event which will take place at E.J. Churchill Shooting Ground.
