Best features:
The Blizzard consists of 2 jackets; a padded warm Primaloft lined jacket which keeps you warm and an outer jacket that is waterproof, windproof and breathable to keep you dry.
With milder shooting seasons in the UK in recent years (in general) you might have got away for the majority of the time wearing the outer jacket over a jumper or waistcoat, however when temperatures start to drop, you merely zip in the padded inner lining and it will keep you warm and snug.
Most surprising feature:
A feature which I found was particularly useful, was that the jacket has a game pocket on the back that includes a sitting flap. On a particularly drizzly, cold morning, whilst out for a stalk, I was able to pull the sitting flap out and keep my posterior dry whilst sitting in a particularly sodden high seat, which certainly made the drive home more comfortable! This could also be particularly useful when out walking the dog in a downpour and you want to have a rest; perhaps on a seat outside of the pub.
Why I should consider this product:
It more affordable than some of the alternatives on the market and I would say it is a bit of an all-rounder. You can wear this jacket driven shooting, stalking or just out walking the dog. With the option of wearing either one or both of the jackets zipped into one another, it means you can be prepared for both the cold, the wet or indeed both.
Design for use in what kind of weather:
In the UK, we seem to regularly experience variable weather conditions during the shooting season and several of the shoot days that I have been on this year, I have had warm mornings, wet lunches and cold afternoons. This coat is designed exactly for those kind of days where you can wear the outer layer when it is warm and wet and if the temperature drops; you merely zip the inner coat into it.
