Introducing the INEOS Grenadier

What’s the perfect vehicle for someone who loves the outdoor life? Over the years there have been various attempts to create shooting vehicles, but most of them ended up being little more than motorised drinks cabinets. And while we actually rather like these - they’re fun and certainly have a place in our occasionally flamboyant world - with all that glassware in the back, where does one put one’s muddy boots and muddier gundog?

 

The INEOS Grenadier will offer a rugged vehicle that is engineered to stand up to the challenges that an outdoor lifestyle presents and withstand a whole lot more than just a spot of mud. It won’t just put up with tough conditions - it will revel in them.

Designed as a stripped-back off-roader, the Grenadier is aimed squarely at lovers of the outdoor lifestyle, including those who enjoy hunting, shooting and fishing, as well as people who work in the countryside: farmers, estate managers and gamekeepers. Inspired by classic 4x4s from the past, many of which have been firm favourites of the shooting world, INEOS are creating - from scratch - a vehicle that shares the spirit of these vehicles.

 

 

Like all the best ideas, the Grenadier was born in the London pub of the same name, when Jim Ratcliffe, Chairman of INEOS and noted adventurer, spotted a gap in the market for an uncompromising off-roader that stood for adventure and active driving but also had the capability to be a work and utility machine. Something that INEOS Grenadier are very clear about is that this will not be an SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle), but a tool built on principles of rugged simplicity, ensuring that it is up to the job, has as little to go wrong as possible and is easy to repair.

 

Building an automotive brand from scratch is a huge project, but INEOS have enlisted the expertise of some of the best engineering firms around the world, to help them make it a success. However, it is also great to see that the Grenadier will be built in the UK, at a purpose-built factory in Wales.
