AYA launches the 'Centenary'

This special sidelock shotgun distils the knowledge and skill of master gunmakers over the last 100 years and combines it with modern manufacturing techniques and the most up-to-date materials in today’s gunmaking world.

The ‘Centenary’ will be a limited edition, restricted to 300 units worldwide and embodying exceptional characteristics; selected walnut stocks of the finest quality, stunning bold scroll engraving and a level of fit and finish of the highest order.

The ‘Centenary’ was launched at the recent ‘British Shooting Show’, where Edward King was joined by Alex Aranzabal, great-nephew of the founder of AYA, and Bela Abellán, Sales Manager.

The name of AYA is synonymous with quality gunmaking and this milestone will perpetuate their drive to remain the benchmark in this sector. AYA, the premier gunmaker in Spain, is unique in that it carries out the majority of manufacturing processes in-house.

AYA sells nearly 90% of its production to overseas markets such as the United Kingdom, the United States and the Benelux countries. With a strong emphasis on the luxury market, AYA is also a member of the ‘Circulo Fortuny’ (the Spanish association of luxury brands).

Under the direction of Alex Aranzabal, the Company has been developing new products which will be launched this Spring. Using the 100-year anniversary as a springboard, AYA is involved in a number of projects which will ensure its position in the long-term.

Since 1915, more than 600,000 guns of varying types and models have left the AYA factory. The target now is to continue innovating and developing new products for its expanding client base.
